2006 Colorado Teachers Union Political Contributions:
Republican Candidate Committees

What sort of candidates?
Political and small donor committees registered through the Colorado Secretary of State can contribute to candidates for state and local offices, but not to federal campaigns.  Campaign finance laws have established limits regarding how much one individual or committee can contribute to any one candidate during an election cycle.  In 2006, Colorado's teachers unions thus far have given money to candidates for Governor, State Treasurer, State Senate, State House, and State Board of Education.

Most of the unions contribute to candidates through legal entities known as small donor committees, which allow them to spend 10 times as much per candidate as the average citizen can spend. Contribution limits are $10,000 to candidates for statewide office and $4,000 to candidates for state legislature for each small donor committee in each election cycle.

Which candidates received the most?
